These textiles are blends of wild silks like tussar and muga with merino wool. Tussar is a tropical wild silk and is produced in Central and Southern parts of India. It is naturally beige in color and is hand spun. Muga is also a wild silk and grows in the North Eastern states of India. At present Avani is working with cultivation of muga silk in Uttaranchal itself. This silk is special to India and looks like spun gold. The merino wool is machine yarn and imported from Australia.
